Description:

Project Safety Coordinator
COGS has partnered with one of the largest General Contractors in Texas, a multi-million dollar construction company providing expertise in building complex facilities for clients in education, healthcare, research, and the public sector.
Due to increased market demand fortheir services and several ongoing projects, they are in growth mode and expanding! This has led to increased opportunities for career trajectory, and hence they are looking for an Environment Health and Safety Coordinator to take ownership of their safety procedures for their site in RGV.
This position is on site in the Rio Grande Valley with a salary up to 130K + Benefits + Relocation assistance (if needed)
Responsibilities: Oversees both general contractor and owner safety program requirements.
Develops tailored onsite safety programs as needed.
Conducts site audits to identify unsafe practices/conditions, provides corrective recommendations or regulation guidance.
Leads or participates in accident investigations.
Provides training for personnel (e.g., toolbox talks, general meetings).
Reports workers' compensation claims and manages onsite claims for Vaughn and subcontractors.
Handles record keeping and documentation for HAZCOM, training, and reports to owners.
Assists in creating and maintaining hazard analysis documentation.
Administers First Aid, CPR, and AED as necessary.
Keeps up-to-date with safety regulations.
Performs additional duties to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years of experience in building construction safety. In lieu of a bachelor's, a minimum of seven years of experience in construction safety or equivalent credentials like CSP, OHST, or CHST.
Recent OSHA 500 or 502 training within the last four years.
Current certification in emergency first aid, CPR, and AED within the past two years. This opportunity can offer you: Huge opportunities for career progression.
